Ever wondered how to identify that mystery mineral in your collection? Join us for an interactive, beginner-friendly mineral identification lab led by club member Elizabeth, who studied mineralogy under Dr. John Rakovan at Miami University.
Working in small, collaborative groups, you will learn the simple hands-on testing methods taught in university geology labs. We will provide testing kits and unknown mineral specimens for each group to investigate—and there will even be prizes for teams with the most accurate identifications!
