About the event

Speaker, Mr. Chad Kaatz from Richmond, Michigan is both a collector and a full-time dealer of fine minerals.

He operates C.K. Fine Minerals and has been extremely active in developing that business with both new and established collectors.

His focus is to mine fluorite, amethyst and calcite.


Like many of us, Chad considers the collector community a second family. He is a young man “going places” in the best sense of the meaning.

 

The Fluorspar District of southern Illinois is widely regarded as producing some of the world’s finest fluorite with seemingly never-ending color schemes and combinations of associated minerals from over a century of mining. Chad’s presentation explains why that is so. Considering his business model is “fine minerals,” expect guidance about how specimen quality can impact collection building.
