About the event

Speaker, Nicholas Viltrakis has been a professional photographer since 2007. For several years he expanded his photography skills to capturing mineral fluorescence.

Viltrakis is active in online communities, such as the Fluorescent Minerals Facebook group, often sharing his imaging techniques, testing, and discussing unique specimen responses. He is an officer in the Fluorescent Mineral Society (FMS) and Midwest chapter President.

As he notes: “We can clearly see how cool fluorescent minerals are, but figuring out what you need, and how to get started, can be daunting in a seemingly costly and complicated way.”
